Skin Brushing

Skin brushing is a most effective technique for cleansing the lymphatic system because it physically stimulates it. Skin brushing also stimulates the bloodstream and is excellent for poor circulation. It gives you a refreshed, uplifted feeling on completion and makes you feel alive and energized. It takes no longer than five minutes, so don’t skimp and try to do it in less – it can be done while running the bath water or build it in to your ‘before showering’ routine. Use a skin brush made from natural vegetable bristles (nylon or animal bristles will be too rough and will damage the skin), with a long but detachable handle, so that you can reach your back if you are ordinarily unable to do so. Always keep the brush dry and strictly for this job, washing it in warm, soapy water every so often. The idea is to ‘create’ lymph and circulatory movement in a sluggish system, moving everything to the exit point of bowel and kidneys.

.

START WITH THE NECK AND SHOULDERS (AVOID THE FACE), BRUSHING DOWN IN STRONG FLICKING MOVEMENTS.

Brush down the chest.

Sweep now UP the hands and arms, moving circulation and lymph material up to the armpit and then continuing from the armpit down the side of the rib cage.

On the abdomen, follow the shape of your colon/bowel and brush in sweeping circular movements (from the right-hand side, up and across to the left, down and back to the right).

Now start on the soles of the feet and then bring brushing movements up the legs to the abdomen (bowel), then repeat the circular movements over the abdomen to stimulate the bowel.
