Dose:
Decoction or tincture.

S.F. Tincture 1 to 3ml daily. Requires breaks of four days every two weeks and use only in small doses.
GEM 1:5 (g/ml) 0.5 to 2.0 ml 3 times daily.
A.C. Tincture - 2.5ml, 3 times daily.
Decoction - 1 teaspoon of cut root to 1 cup of water, 3 times daily.

Contraindications

1) Do not use during pregnancy or lactation due to this herbs emmenagogue and genotoxic effects. E


2) Avoid with peptic ulcers due to this herb stimulating gastric acid secretions. E


3) Avoid with diabetes. E

4) Avoid with kidney inflammations and hot conditions. E

5) This herb may cause photodermititis when undergoing ultraviolet light or solarium treatment due to the presence of furanocoumarins. It may increase the risk of skin cancer. E


6) Excessive doses may cause depression of the central nervous system.


7) Avoid regular and high doses of this herb with diabetics due to its high sugar content.
