Contraindications

1) Avoid combining with diuretic medications, as this herb may potentiate the effects of these drugs and lead to possible cardiovascular side effects.
2) Due to the fact that this herb is a strong diurtic there is some thought that it should not be used with diabetes as it may overstimulate the adrenals and inhibit the action of insulin.

NOTE: When fresh the iridoid glycosides within this herb are highest, giving the best use of its anti-bacterial qualities.

The information contained in these pages is an indication of possible contraindications, but if you are at all concerned about any herb and its suitability for personal use please contact a herbal practitioner in your area or contact us.
