growing - Herbs Hands Healinglab - Herbs HAnds Healingmixer - Herbs Hands Healinglab - Herbs HAnds HealingAll the herbs used in the skin products have been grown as one would wish, to the gold star standard of unadulterated nature. Just as for the herbal medicines at Herbs Hands Healing, these plants are grown on English farmland in lush, fertile organic and biodynamic certified soils. Biochemists and herbalists decide on the many details of the harvesting and subsequent 'fresh plant' processing.

The English weather produces strong plants and rich biochemistry. For example in terms of root production cold winters are essential for creating the correct biochemistry, as in the case of the Marshmallow and Comfrey root we use. As for the more floral herb parts, these do equally well in an English Summer and there is nothing quite like the sight of flowering Lavender, Clary Sage and St John’s Wort, and the vivid purple, lilacs, yellows and pinks they produce. To imagine all this ending up on your skin is truly wonderful.

As with the herbal medicine range, the plants are treated in accordance with good manufacturing guidelines during harvesting and of course while being processed. The factory has a Herbal Medicine Licence of Competence, issued by the Department of Health due to the production of Herbal Medicines on site.

The essential oils are chosen purely on force of fragrance. They may be sourced therefore from either the UK, Europe or further afield. Essential oils are a specific plant component and sometimes the sunny nature of the Mediterranean climate can be vital, yet sometimes locally grown English Chamomile wins through!
