SuperFood plus' Nutritional Content

SuperFood plus contains the two richest sources of Vitamin A-Beta Carotene which is only one of the many carotenoids found in SuperFood plus.

Vitamin B1 converts carbohydrates and fats into energy. It also helps prevent he build ups of toxic byproducts of metabolism in the body. It assists in the normal functioning of the nervous system, muscles and heart and more generalised normal development and growth. Helpful for 'low energy' times and to improve mental alertness.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) is required to release energy from food and for the functioning of vitamin B6 and B3. It has many of the attributes of B1.

Vitamin B3 (Niacin) is involved in the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. It assists in times of stress and generally supports the nervous system. It is helpful for ringing in the ears and associated dizziness; also for diabetes and hyperthyroidism.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal) helps to release energy from proteins. It is also important for immune function, the nervous system and the formation of red blood cells.

Vitamin B12 is vital for making DNA, RNA and is vital for myelin sheath production, this insulates nerves and keeps the nervous system calm and balanced. It is also needed for cell division. Folic Acid is required for cell division and the formation of DNA, RNA and proteins in the body. It is vitally required prior to and during pregnancy. It aids proper nervous system function and helps regulate histamine levels in the body (allergies).

Choline helps the utilisation of fats in the body. It is also directly involved in brain chemical metabolism. It is referred to as the 'memory' vitamin as it is an important part of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

Biotin helps make fatty acids. It also helps incorporate amino acids into protein and aids the formation of DNA and RNA.

Inositol helps to emulsify fats.

Panthothenic acid helps to release energy from food and is essential to the synthesis of cholesterol, fat and red blood cells.

Para-aminobenzoic acid nourishes the hair and is vital as a natural sunscreen.

Boran helps to maintain calcium balance.

Calcium is a vital component of bones and teeth which contains 99% of the body's total calcium. The remaining 1% helps cell structure and function, as well as in the blood where it aids clotting.

Chromium increases the effectiveness of insulin by stimulating glucose uptake in cells. It also helps to control levels of fat and cholesterol. Very important for hypoglycaemics and diabetics.

Cobalt is stored in red blood cells and the plasma (also the liver, kidneys, spleen and pancreas) and is an integral part of the vitamin B12.

Selenium is needed for healthy liver and heart function and the maintenance of eyes, skin and hair. It has an antioxidant function helping to protect cell membranes and intracellular structural membranes from breakdown. It also assists in hormone balance.

Red Blood Cells

Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid) Often known the anti-stress vitamin it is vital for healthy nervous system and adrenal glands. It is used to mediate fat metabolism and for the detoxification of drugs. For immune support - it helps create antibodies. Some people experience facial flushing after drinking SuperFood plus which is the B5.
