Introduction:
If an ovarian follicle fails to release an egg, a cyst can develop which is filled with a clear fluid and develops into a firmish sac. Uterine fibroids, or benign tumors and ovarian cysts are mostly non-malignant but can become problematic if they grow large giving pressure and maybe bleeding.
Frequently they are undiagnosed until they are quite large as they have few symptoms. Nonetheless if they are causing no harm they are best left as they are. |

Because they are encapsulated, they are unlikely to become invasive and their growth may be inhibited by reducing oestrogen intake and weight gain.
Cervical cysts and polyps are always benign but again may protrude and bleed if large when they can be easily treated. Ovaries which are poly cystic, or have multiple cysts, can be a factor in infertility and suggest a hormone imbalance.
