Hay fever

Introduction:

A seasonal allergy marked by sneezing, sniffling runny nose and or watery eyes in other words all mucous membranes of the nose and upper air passages will be affected. This hypersensitive allergic reaction is caused by a release of histamine which initially causes dilation of blood vessels. People affected can be prone through genetic predisposition. However, poor digestion and a weakened immune system can lead to this pollen allergy.

Nutritional Advice:

Certain food groups can exacerbate this condition; start by cutting out wheat, dairy products, tea and coffee but especially wheat. If your diet is already good, then you are probably low immunally and your immune system (and whole body) will need strengthening.

Consume enhancer's like garlic, apple cider vinegar taken daily (2 tablespoons) will counteract the increased secretion of acid by the stomach when histamine is released as it is alkaline.

Taking local organic honey year-round can provide a 'natural' immunity. Additionally 1-2 grains of pollen daily taken year round or for one and a half months prior to your particular pollen season will also help.

Juniper Berries

Natural Healing:

Omega 3, 6 & 9 can help support this allergic condition, so try hemp or linseed oil capsules.

Herb Quality:

A large proportion of our herbs are grown in English soils, harvested using bio-chemistry analysis and many but not always, processed fresh, which heightens their remedial properties. The majority are grown organically and or sustainably wild-crafted. All manufacturing is carried out using licensed good manufacturing practice.

DO NOT MIX HERBAL MEDICINE AND GP PRESCRIBED MEDICATION WITHOUT THE PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR GP OR PRACTIONER
