During acute episodes avoid fibrous foods for a few days, replacing these with liquid foods e.g. Superfood, nourishing soups and vegetable and fruit juices.
Avoid foods that directly irritate e.g. coffee, teas & alcohol.
Try omitting dairy products and wheat from the diet for 1-3 months to see if this helps.
Drink plenty of water daily (2-3 litres) straining can be due to lack of water in the bowel.
