Dermatitis

Introduction:

This literally means inflammation of the skin accompanied by itching and redness. The inflammation can be due to an infection, or an allergic reaction, caused either by direct contact (as with some metals and animal hair) or through external factors - sunlight, perfumes and paints. Atopic dermatitis is hereditary in an allergy sense and dermatitis herpetiformis is a very itchy type associated with intestinal problems and disorders triggered by dairy products and wheat etc. Another type of dermatitis, caused by a malfunction of the sebaceous glands, causes greasy skin. The vitamins B6 and B2 are vital and a lack of them can cause dermatitis. With all forms of dermatitis, attention to the adrenal glands, nervous system, immune system and all the eliminative channels, especially the liver and colon are vital. A proper diagnosis as to the type of dermatitis will be vital. Atopic dermatitis can be treated fairly easily with the guidance of a herbal practitioner.

Nutritional Advice:

Consume B vitamin rich foods e.g. non-active yeast flakes like Engevita and seaweed's. Also Superfood.

You will need omega 3, 6 & 9 in the body. Include virgin olive oil in the daily diet and use linseed seeds or capsules. Or / and take GLA capsules. Avoid trans fatty acids found in cakes, pastries and margarine as they destroy omega 3, 6 & 9.

Avoid all wheat and dairy products and preferably alcohol, coffee and sugar. Eat plenty of seeds, nuts, sprouted seeds and beans, and generally eat whole foods to include plenty of vegetables, salad items etc.

If you can, put a day aside where you mainly eat papayas or ripe bananas and large proportions of raw foods including lots of garlic. Only proceed with this after you have gained the advice of a practitioner.

Herb Quality:

A large proportion of our herbs are grown in English soils, harvested using bio-chemistry analysis and many but not always, processed fresh, which heightens their remedial properties. The majority are grown organically and or sustainably wild-crafted. All manufacturing is carried out using licensed good manufacturing practice.

DO NOT MIX HERBAL MEDICINE AND GP PRESCRIBED MEDICATION WITHOUT THE PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR GP OR PRACTIONER
