Introduction:
Inflammation of the soft tissue elastic sac between gliding bones (a bursa), as in the shoulders, knees and wrists with hot, red, painful and swollen joints. Any bony prominence or any muscle or tendon can be affected. Tennis elbow is a typical outcome.
|
Nutritional Advice:
Should the problem become chronic then adopt the same dietary programme as for arthritis and rheumatism.
Drink two litres or more of water daily as gliding bones needs good cushioning and a lot of this is supplied by water.

Natural Healing:
A compress using St. John's Wort macerated oil (or a hot castor oil pack, followed by a cold shower, can bring relief. After placing on the body and taping in place; cover with plastic. The castor oil pack may need baking soda to help to remove it in the morning if left on over night in order to bring greater pain relief. Be aware that the pack may become stained and dirty with the toxins drawn out by the castor oil. (Sometimes, though not always, the toxins go 'in' and are taken away via the lymph system.) Therefore wash or replace the pack nightly alternately use for 1 hour when convenient.
Rest the area; stop or limit the activity which aggravates the inflammation and pain. |
