Introduction:
Appendicitis is an acute inflammation of the appendix which, if left untreated, can result in a rupture causing peritonitis. Symptoms can include stomach ache, intense, sharp pain on the right hand side, or tenderness to the right and below the navel, which is increased by pressure and movement. There may also be nausea, constipation, rapid pulse, vomiting and slight fever (100-102ºF). It is most commonly caused by fecal impaction in which the
faeces
have become compacted and immobile due to a faulty bowel and ensuingly infection has followed. It is very to diagnose correctly in the early stages as many diseases can include the wide range of symptoms. However, if successful diagnosis is given and if the Rumbling Appendix is of a non-acute nature:

Nutritional Advice:
A mono juice fast (apple, grape or carrot), with a glass of prune and lemon juice in the morning for two or three days. Ease into a whole food (mucus-less) diet, starting with light miso soups, potassium broths, sweet fruits and steamed vegetables. Build up to raw vegetables, grains and legumes.
For children: Try one or two days of liquids (as opposed to a juice fast) - juice and potassium broth and pureed vegetable soups.
Drink plenty of water at room temperature.

Herb Quality:
A large proportion of our herbs are grown in English soils, harvested using bio-chemistry analysis and many but not always, processed fresh, which heightens their remedial properties. The majority are grown organically and or sustainably wild-crafted. All manufacturing is carried out using licensed good manufacturing practice.
DO NOT MIX HERBAL MEDICINE AND GP PRESCRIBED MEDICATION WITHOUT THE PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR GP OR PRACTIONER |
Natural Healing:
Massage the abdomen with ginger essential oil or make fresh ginger tea, soak a cloth in it, place over the appendix area, then put a hot water bottle on top. Gently massage the abdomen and feet each night with the ginger tea.

Take hot and cold showers.
Childhood rumbling appendix is said to be associated with the fear of life. Night time is a prime time for this to flare up, as with other illnesses. There could be many suggestions concerning this. One might be to place pillows and blankets snugly around the child at bedtime. Then put a few drops of lavender and sage essential oils on the pillow placed at the head to help calm fears. |
